Maeve’s Story
Maeve’s parents, Ashleigh and Blake, spent months searching for answers as their little girl grew bloated, pale, and exhausted. When her skin turned grey, Ashleigh pushed for more tests, leading to the devastating discovery of a tumour on Maeve’s left kidney. In “complete shock and disbelief,” the family stayed in Sydney as Maeve began intensive chemotherapy.
Hospital social workers connected them with Ronald McDonald House Randwick, where they found kindness, stability, and a community that understood. Volunteers cooked meals, folded laundry, and offered genuine care.
As Ashleigh says: “Every bit of support is truly lifechanging.”
