I'm swimming for Sick Kids!

I'm taking part in Swim for Sick Kids this November to support seriously ill and injured children and their families.

For sick kids staying at Ronald McDonald House Sydney, they just want their families close as they battle childhood diseases, illnesses and injuries.

On average, it costs $190 to support a sick child and their family for one night at the House. The families stay for FREE so they can focus on what is most important, their sick child.

Please support me and help keep families together as they face the most difficult journey of their lives.

Together, we can show these brave and courageous kids that we're fighting for them.

Hey Everyone! 

In November, I’ll be swimming 20km as part of the Ronald McDonald Swim for Sick Kids Challenge, raising funds to support seriously ill children and their families.

For those who may not know, I was a competitive swimmer for 11 years and spent most of my childhood and teenage years in the pool. About five years ago, I hung up my cap and goggles and haven’t been back in the pool since.

Over the years, I’ve taken part in a number of swimming fundraisers, so I couldn’t think of a better reason to finally get back in the water.

So, why am I doing this?

Imagine receiving the worst news possible. Your child is seriously ill and, in order for them to receive the lifesaving treatment they need, you have to pack up your life and relocate your family. You would drop everything.

But what does that actually mean?

Many of the families staying at Ronald McDonald House Charities Sydney are more than 100km away from home, separated from their usual support networks, routines and everything familiar to them. During an already unimaginable time, RMHC Sydney provides families with a home away from home so they can focus on what matters most: their child and their family.

RMHC Sydney helps families by:

• Providing accommodation 365 days a year at no cost to families
• Supporting sick children and their families through the Learning Program
• Making sure families can sit down to a home-cooked meal
• Most importantly, helping keep families together during some of the most difficult moments of their lives

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

Every donation will help RMHC Sydney continue providing a warm and supportive home away from home for families who have travelled to Randwick while their child receives treatment at Sydney Children’s Hospital.

So, in November, the cap and goggles are officially coming back out for 20km for an incredibly important cause. 🏊‍♀️❤️
