Imagine your child is sick — not just a cold, but really, seriously ill. Your world flips in an instant. Hospital walls become your new normal, and the comfort of home feels a million miles away.
Now imagine trying to hold it all together — traveling hours for treatment, sleeping in waiting rooms, juggling work, bills, and other children who still need you.
This is the heartbreaking reality for too many families.
But there is a place that becomes their lifeline: Ronald McDonald Family Room in Wollongong Hospital.
When your child is in the hospital, being close matters. Our Family Room offers a peaceful space for families to rest, recharge, and care for themselves, just moments from their child’s bedside.
Staffed by compassionate volunteers, the Family Room allows you to step away from the clinical environment of the ward and into our warm, welcoming and comfortable homely space to enjoy a cup of tea, have a snack/meal, take a short nap, shower or launder your clothes.
Families are going through the fight of their life, but they can't do it alone. That’s why I’m fundraising — to give back to the Family Room that gives so much. 💛
Every dollar raised helps provide love, comfort, and dignity to families with seriously ill children.
No one should face their child’s illness alone.
